Our Story
Welcome to the dojang of Master Kichul Kim, born in Suwon, South Korea 1982, opening his first Full-time Taekwondo school located in Cairns, Australia, established in 2019.
Master Kim began his martial arts career at the age of seven with his Master Munyang Lee, since then Taekwondo has been a part of his everyday life, he has been training for over 30 years and teaching Taekwondo for 16 years.
Master Kim says my job is to make good kids. The rules are simple.
Number One: RESPECT for yourself, your mum, your dad, your teacher, and all around you.
Number Two: DISCIPLINE, it will help children later in life.
Number Three: be POLITE to all.
Lastly, be a GOOD student, a GOOD daughter or son and while working studying or just doing love your parents love friends love your teacher, and have a good time, we are here to please the children.
Master Kim started part-time classes in the city of Cairns but soon found more and more students arriving and soon decided he had to expand.
Expanding the dojang was a big decision, Master Kim had teaching experience he didn’t know how to run a business, but with help from family, former students and others he felt comfortable enough that it was the right decision for all.
On the MAT is where it all happens, having fun and learning with a mixture of ages and belts all helping each other achieve their goals, plus the classes are jam-packed with fun and energetic drills so that the children will leave with a sense of pride and accomplishment and will want to come back for more.
Children as young as five are welcome to start this amazing journey.
